Sarandë, the pearl of southern Albania, attracts visitors with its crystal clear sea, sandy beaches and a mysterious history that can be discovered in the surrounding monuments.
Sarandë is 3,5 hours by car from Rinas Airport in Tirana and 1,5 hours from the city of Vlorë.
Sea and Beach
The sea is turquoise blue and clean. The beaches here are sandy, often surrounded by cliffs and rocks, in some parts of the city there are beaches with white pebble stones.
All basic services are available in the city, including shops, banks, pharmacies and medical facilities. The city has good infrastructure.

Location description

Sarandë is a charming seaside town in the south of Albania, near the border with Greece. The city is located on the coast of the Ionian Sea and is surrounded by mountain massifs. Sarandë is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Albania, thanks to its pleasant climate, beautiful beaches and picturesque surroundings. The city is also an important port from which ships leave for nearby Greece. Sarandë has everything you could wish for, white beaches, a small port, historical monuments and charming cafes and restaurants. The local port offers various excursions and attractions. The historically important Lekursi fortress, located above the city, offers incredible views of the sea and the entire city. There is a park around the fortress with beautiful views and there is a restaurant on the top of the fortress where you can enjoy local cuisine and local wine. It is a great place to relax, explore the cultural heritage and taste the local specialties. If you are looking for a destination that has it all, don't hesitate and come with us to Sarandë! The sea in Sarandë is a beautiful turquoise blue and very clean. The beaches are wide and sandy, often surrounded by cliffs and rocks, providing breathtaking scenery. In some parts of the city there are beaches with white pebble stones that glisten beautifully in the sun. Many beaches have excellent services and facilities, including sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports and beach bars. For lovers of quiet swimming and sunbathing, there are also plenty of deserted beaches that offer peace and privacy. Apart from having a lot to see, Sarandë also has a lively night scene where you can enjoy music, dancing and the local atmosphere in one of the many bars and clubs. If you fancy a bit of adventure, you can head to Butrint National Park, located just 20 km from Sarandë and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is an important archaeological site and has incredibly well-preserved Greek and Roman monuments. Among the most important are the amphitheater and the temples. If you prefer nature, you can go to the spring called Blue eye. It is a natural lake, the water of which is incredibly blue and clear. The lake is about 60 meters deep and water flows into it through underground springs. This phenomenon is a tourist attraction and many visitors come here to explore this beautiful place, so it is good to go here early in the morning to avoid the tourist crowds.
